safety

DEARSAN Marine CNG is a ship that has been designed with the maximum level of safety, modular, equipped with specially-designed CNG transport containers which comprise serially-connected lightweight composite cylinders. This project has been approved in principle by the RINA Classification Society.

environmental

Using CNG helps reduce CO2 emissions and its recovery allows it to observe the increasingly widespread and strict regulations against the practice of gas flaring, an issue present among producers in the oil & gas sector who need to dispose of well-tested gases and gases originating from oil extraction. The exploitation of these gases, transforming them from by-products into resources, produces significant benefits for both the oil & gas sector and the environment.

cost-effectiveness

This solution, which is based on proven technologies, allows gases to be compressed at 250 bar.

versatility

Transporting CNG by sea is the ideal solution for all situations that do not justify investing in pipelines, liquefaction, or regasification facilities. Thanks to the DEARSAN Marine CNG ship, these so-called marginal fields can be recovered and enhanced, thus monetizing these small amounts of gases. The CNG transport process is very simple and can moor at traditional piers without special infrastructure. Once the gas transported in this method reaches its destination, it is practically ready for use, and can therefore be destined for regions lacking pipelines and regasification facilities. This is a niche market but interesting nonetheless.

innovation

This is a new and exclusive solution with a series of innovations that produce various operational, economic, and environmental benefits which would otherwise go to waste. It is estimated that natural gas reserves with these characteristics amount to 180000 billion m.3, or over 950 trillion ft.3

benefits

The DEARSAN Marine CNG ship is the world's first CNG ship for the maritime transport of CNG (compressed natural gas), designed by DEARSAN using Type 4 composite cylinders, which introduce an important innovation in the natural gas market: gas can now be transported at sea without undergoing liquefaction, only compression. This makes delivery faster, more practical and convenient, and avoids the waste of a precious resource such as natural gas.
